EXCERPTS FROM TAPES, FOR STUDY, PRACTICE, AND MEDITATION

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6 - at THE INN OF CHICAGO - 11:00 A.M.

JOEL S. GOLDSMITH: THE 1961 LOS ANGELES CLOSED CLASS
"The Temple or Sanctuary," Tape 1, Side 1

To know the nature of God opens a great question, and that is this: since God is good, since God is love, since God is Omnipresence,
Omnipotence, how have we brought ourselves out of the kingdom of God, how have we brought ourselves into the discords and inharmonies that
we experience? Scripture reveals it to us in this way, that since we have accepted two powers, we are paying the penalty for that belief. Or, in
another way, we have brought ourselves under the law. Now, for the first time, this entire subject has been clarified for us in THE THUNDER OF
SILENCE, so that you can see this: since evil is impersonal, we have not brought our troubles upon ourselves. In other words, we were born into
them, and because we were born into them, and these false teachings were poured into us from the beginning, we began to live from the
standpoint of "self-preservation is the first law of nature," or "doing others before they can do unto us," or any other form of "self-hood." So,
with the word "self-hood," we have the whole, you might say, "source" of our evil. Take away the word "self" from us, in the sense of a personal
self, and what do you find? You find, then, no necessity to do for "me," because there is no "me," separate and apart from
you. In other words,
where there is
one Self-hood, as there is, what we do unto another, we do unto the self that we are. And again, in Scripture, "In as much as ye
have done it unto the least of these, my brethren, ye have done it unto Me." So it is that, every time we violate the Sermon on the Mount, or
rather, the Golden Rule, every time we do unto another what we would
not have them do unto us, we are violating our self. We think we are
violating someone else, and [that] maybe we'll get away with it. But it isn't someone else, there is only one Self, and in as much as I have done it
unto even the
least seeming self, I have done it unto my self.

For Meditation: "Certainly, for centuries, it has been taught that you must be good to have all this                          [harmony] flow into your
experience, and that's nonsense, utter nonsense. On the contrary, those who                    aren't so 'good' seem to go a little deeper within
(because of their very unrest outside) and find
This, and find that this makes them good. You don't have to be good to get it: you have to get It
in order to be good. … Once we attain the realization of God, ALL things are added unto us. Anything that we are missing, happiness, home,
supply, morals, whatever it may be that is absent today, will be present tomorrow
if we attain the realization of the nature of our own
consciousness and realize that, within our own consciousness, we embody the whole universe."
- Joel, from the Tape

For Study: AWAKENING MYSTICAL CONSCIOUSNESS, Chapter 11.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6 - 1:00 P.M.

VIRGINIA STEPHENSON: THE 2004 STAMFORD CLASS
"Steps In Prayer," Tape 4, Side 1 (No. 0423)

This universe is a projection of Consciousness, and your world and mine reflect our state of consciousness. Is there any consciousness separate
and apart from you and me? No, man is the image and likeness of God, consciousness individualized but never finitized. The word "individual"
comes from a root meaning "not divisible," so we are the product of the measure of that
I that we are showing forth. If we were truly illumined
and unconditioned, then our world would be entirely spiritual, incorporeal, harmonious, eternal and immortal. We have been able to manifest
only a certain degree of that infinite Consciousness, and our world is exactly the measure of divine Consciousness that we are able to realize and
allow to unfold.

In the beginning of our experience on this path, we make an effort never to put a name or a label on any discord. Instead we use the word
"appearance." An appearance can disappear like a desert mirage. When discords arise, we can say to ourselves, "This appears to disappear." Then
there is no fear or anxiety, but instead a sense of inner peace. If we can go into that wonderful silence, we have broken the mesmeric pull of the
appearance world. We are not asking God to heal something or someone and we are not dealing with people, places, things or conditions. The
moment we go into the silence, lift up the
I, and have the realization that this is a spiritual universe, in that deep silence, the appearance
disappears. We see that it was all illusory because we really are spiritual beings living in a spiritual universe.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8 - at
UNITY ON THE NORTH SHORE - 7:30 P.M.

THE HEALING CHRIST LOVE, by Virginia Stephenson, Chapter 11: "Lovest Thou Me?"

"After the resurrection and before the ascension, Jesus appeared to his disciples at the sea of Tiberias and prepared a meal for them. The
morning meal, like the Last Supper, reflects the communion with the Christ of our being. Jesus asked his disciples, '
Children, have ye any meat?'
He was challenging them to recognize true substance, the hidden manna. But they did not understand, and so Jesus said,
'Cast the net on the
right side,'
meaning, put all your trust on the side of Spirit, because Spirit is the true substance."

"The Master is saying to us now: 'Cast your nets on the side of Spirit.' Following this advice makes for a more joyful and abundant life. Living
according to spiritual principles is not onerous or difficult, and it does not curb our freedom. Rather, it is the way of greater freedom and
unfoldment, the way for many spiritual ideas to manifest in our lives by grace instead of effort. The multitude of fish caught in the disciples' net
represents the omnipresence of the infinite ideas. Every new idea, every invention that can bless mankind now or ten thousand years from now,
is already present in Consciousness, waiting to be brought forth by the receptive individual who casts the net on the side of Spirit."

"When the disciples came ashore, they saw that Jesus had already prepared a breakfast for them. The Christ always provides everything for our
sustenance.
'… Before they call, I will answer …' [ISAIAH 65:24] And as the disciples hauled the fish to land, they noticed that the net holding the
many fish did not break. Christ-consciousness is infinite and always expresses as the unfoldment of infinite Self-containment. Therefore, we
never have a sense of stress or pressure as infinite opportunities to serve and share out of the rich resources of our soul come to us."

"At the Last Supper, Jesus was teaching his disciples the way of oneness. Now at the morning meal he again feeds them the
'… bread which
cometh down from heaven'
[JOHN 6:50] and also fish, which represent spiritual ideas, and there is awakening as the disciples realize that Jesus is
living in the resurrection, in his spiritual body, although it appeared to be material."

"You remember that the number three represents readiness for further illumination. This was the third time that Jesus came to his disciples after
the resurrection, and it was at this meeting that he asked Peter three times if he loved him. This is the commitment that is always asked of us:
Do you love Me, the invisible Christ, more than all else? Do you love this gentle Presence within you more than the outer forms? This is what is
being said to us over and over again:
'Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world … ' [I JOHN 2:15], for these are temporary
mental projections, whereas, I am life eternal. Love Me, love your real Self, Who is the essence and substance of life, which unfolds eternally and
infinitely."

"The entire drama of Jesus' life, from the annunciation of the Holy Spirit to Mary through the Easter events, is the interior experience of divine
Consciousness unfolding as the Christ-idea of individual being. The annunciation is experienced when the Spirit of God is upon us and announces
Itself within our consciousness as it did to Mary:
'The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:
therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.'
[LUKE 1:35] Then with humility, we also realize, '… Be it
unto me according to thy word … '
[LUKE 1:38], and the Immaculate Conception takes place in us."

For Meditation: "Father, take all of me. Immerse me in Thy love. Let me be so at one with Thee that the inner and the outer, the above and the
below, are all united in One."
- Virginia

THE INN OF CHICAGO - 11:00 A.M.

JOEL S. GOLDSMITH: THE 1961 LOS ANGELES CLOSED CLASS
"From the I" Tape 2, Side 2

… Yes, God is love:
God is God's love for man. … God is God's love for His creation; God is
manifest as His love for His creation. Perhaps that's true. Once I get to see the nature of spiritual creation, I am sure that that's true. Once I
perceive spiritual creation, I'll know that it's God's love that is maintaining that creation. So in that sense, I think that I have found that God is
love.
The "mind that was in Christ Jesus is my mind when my mind is not concerning itself with good and evil, when my mind is unconditioned and
free, receptive and responsive to that which flows from the Father within. When I am not making up my own mind, when I'm not making up my
own judgments, when I am not making up my own decisions, when I am the unconditioned mind attuned to hearing the "still small voice," then
my mind is "that mind which was in Christ Jesus" and forgives me and wipes out "the lost years of the locust," forgives me my sins, overcomes the
effects of the calendar, gives me wisdom, strength, provides me with the instruments for living, the associations. All that is necessary flows forth
from this unconditioned mind of me which is God. My mind, when it is free from its own concepts or the world's concepts of good and evil, when
I no longer judge by appearances, when I no longer judge by what men and women accept as true, but when I allow my judgments by influenced
by the impulse that is within me, the source of me, when I have learned to turn within and receive judgments. Usually, the judgments are, "this
is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased. …
This is the child of God. This is God's image and likeness. This place is holy ground."

This I which uses the body as an instrument, as a vehicle - I is the law unto my body. The reason this opens the spiritual faculties is this: it heals
you of the ignorance that the control of your life and your body is external to yourself or dependent upon human modes and means. Whatever
human thing is necessary for your experience will be drawn to you by the I of your being, just as the life of the tree draws, through the roots,
whatever is necessary from the soil, from the rain, from the sun. So the Life, which is named
I, governs my being and my body without my taking
thought. I cannot by taking thought change a white hair to black. I cannot by taking thought increase my stature; and if I need not take thought
for those things, why should I take thought for
anything? And yet, whatever thought is necessary for me to have, for any purpose, will be given
to me without
my taking thought. I will merely be receptive and responsive to the thought which flows from the I within my being, the I that I
really am.

For Meditation: "Spiritual truth is not true about humanhood, but about Spirit and Its universe. Humanhood is a state of mesmerism and only as
the illusion breaks is one's life 'in God.'" -
Joel, Wisdom #95

For Study: I STAND ON HOLY GROUND (1976 Letters), Chapter 6.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 20 - 1:00 P.M.

JOHN STEPHENSON: THE 2004 CHICAGO CLASS
"Metaphysics and Mysticism," Tape 3, Side 2 (No.0430)

… Innately, we are all spiritual beings, we are not material beings. This material aspect of life is an imposition. It's the conditioning that started as
infants, and it is perpetuated by the human heritage. We begin to relate as infants. Our first senses are sensory, and they start feeding what is
pleasant and what is not pleasant. Then we start recognizing individuals, and they're "mine:" "my mother," "my father," this is "my blanket," this is
"my this." Then it becomes "this is my
pain," and it's, "Mom, take my pain away from me." It all becomes ingrained and conditioned by this sense
of personalization. "Mine:" "my house," "my parents," "my husband," "my children." You know, it's all "my, my." There was one teacher in Los
Angeles that said it all: "It's all just about 'me' and 'mine.' Get rid of the 'me' and 'mine,' and you're going to be free." It can be as easy as that:
impersonalization. Get rid of this personal concept of life that has evolved from birth, and goes through all these stages; and it is going to end at
death. That is the hypnotism of personal sense.

Now, within that, since we are spiritual Being, always have been and always will be, because this I that I am is eternal, when we experience this
presence, this I, we are not experiencing humanity, we are experiencing spirituality, and that spirituality is infinite, and it is eternal. So we are
unbounded in consciousness and eternal. There's no beginning and there is no end. This Life that we are, this Consciousness that we are is
without beginning or end.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 22 at
259 SKYLINE DR., CARPENTERSVILLE - 7:30 P.M.

Class, and Tape:
LUELLA OVEREEM: THE 1991 GREEN BAY EASTER CLASS
"Middle Path," Tape 2 Side 1

Question: "Would you please further explain the idea of the "Middle Path?"

Answer: "Well, the Middle Path is the path between the pairs of opposites, except there isn't any such, and so you have to be on a higher level, a
higher dimension, to have neither good nor evil, neither "this" nor "that," "neither circumcision nor uncircumcision." The human level, which is
the belief in two powers - that's all there is to it, that's all that constitutes it, is this belief in two powers, in "twoness," and if you're taking one
side or another side of any issue whatsoever, you're on the human level. It makes no difference what the area is, nor what the decision is, that
is, either the "good" or the "evil." Of course, there are people who believe that they are the opposite, that your good is evil and their evil is
good. It makes no difference which, if you are choosing either one, you are still on the human level. None of these things will get you into
"heaven," into spiritual consciousness. It's the same thing whether it is other things, like taking medicine or not taking medicine, for instance.
Nothing that you do, humanly, is going to help you attain spiritual consciousness. God doesn't know anything about it; it makes no difference
whether you do "this" thing or "that" thing. It's all on the level of humanhood. Same with being for or against something, whether it is war or not
war. Whatever comes up, they are all on the human level, and the Middle Path is spiritual identity: it's being on a spiritual level of consciousness,
and in that level, there's no
sense of evil, there's no sense of good or bad people or things or activities. There isn't even a sense of it, because in
"My Kingdom" there isn't any opposites, there is just One, there is just God.

For Meditation: "Do you know that each one of us could have all there is on earth, and still, everyone else could also have everything there is on
earth, because this is a spiritual universe. Every potato in the soil is spiritual, and it multiplies itself end without end, unless you stop the flow by
trying to divide it or bring it to yourself, instead of opening a way and letting it flow out."
- Joel

And how do you do that? You close your eyes and turn within, you be still. That's how you release it. - Luella
