"Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon

in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass,

which is to-day in the field, and to-morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye

of little faith?" - Luke 12:27-28

EXCERPTS FROM TAPES FOR STUDY, PRACTICE, AND MEDITATION

SUNDAY, JUNE 1 - at THE INN OF CHICAGO- 11:00 A.M.

JOEL S. GOLDSMITH: THE 1956 SECOND STEINWAY HALL CLOSED CLASS

"God Is One – One Power – One Life – One, One, One" Tape 1 Side 1

Health and harmony and companionship and supply are ours by grace; only, be receptive to it; only, be still. Rest
in quietness and in confidence, and let the grace of God appear. You will find, then, that we are children of God, we
are heirs, we are "joint heirs, with Christ, to all the heavenly riches." [See Romans 8:17]
It is ours by grace - but in silence, in quietness, in stillness, in confidence; in the realization, really, that God is,
    and God is one.

There is one little discipline that comes in, there. There will be occasions when fear will raise up its head: "Will
the health get here before I die? Will the supply get here before I am completely broke? Will companionship get
here before I die of loneliness?" That fear will come up; and when it does, you’ll just have to realize that even fear
hasn’t power, so go right on fearing. Not even fear is power. Fear is only power to him who fears fear. Otherwise,
fear, in and of itself cannot be power. You know why, now: because God is one. If God is one, that is the only power.
There is no other power. So, if you’re fearing, and if your fear has given your child a fever, just sit there and fear
some more, but while doing that fearing, realize, "I’m having a good time, and it doesn’t bother the child one single
bit, because at least the child has a God. Never, never fear fear. That was one of the mistakes of the early
metaphysicians, the belief that you had to overcome fear before you could heal disease. Why? Is fear any more
power than disease? Why should any one thing be more dangerous than another? If disease isn’t a power, why
should fear be a power? So, you might just as well fear the disease as to fear fear, as long as you are going to fear
something. Why just fear another name? But you may take my word for this, through the years of practice: fear isn’
t a power at all, and if you can enjoy fearing, go right ahead. Only, do it in the realization that it isn’t hurting
anybody, anywhere, at any time, because God is one, and God is the only power there is. And surely, a "jealous
God" isn’t dividing Its power with fear.

For Meditation: Jesus saw some babies nursing. He said to his followers, "These nursing babies are like those who
enter the kingdom.’ They said to him, ‘Then shall we enter the kingdom as babies?’ Jesus said to them, ‘When you
make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper
like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the
female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand , a foot in place of a foot, an
image in place of an image, then you will enter [the kingdom]."- Gospel of Thomas

    SUNDAY, JUNE 1 - 12:30 P.M.

VIRGINIA STEPHENSON: THE 1987 ASILOMAR RETREAT

    "Love’s Incorporeal Substance," Tape 4 Side 1(No. 8725)

I am come so that you may have life, and life abundantly. The nature of this I is infinity. It cannot be qualified or
quantified, because It is incorporeal and invisible. So your outer appearance does not affect that which already
divinely IS. Now, this I has nothing to give or reveal of "this world." It doesn’t have health to give, because It doesn’t
know sickness. It doesn’t have money to give, because It doesn’t know money; and yet, it is the source and activity of
all good. It is the substance of all good. It is the law of multiplication. It is the law of resurrection. It is the law of
preservation. But you cannot apply it to appearances: you must learn to accept it, and rise to the consciousness of
incorporeality, realizing that the real substance of life is incorporeal, spiritual.

I am Truth. Truth is substantial. Truth is real; and even if there is a lie, the lie has no power, because the Truth is
what you are. Jesus said of mortal consciousness, "It is a liar and the father of all lies;" but you do not have to be
perturbed about lies. Know the truth, and what is the truth of being? I and my Father are one, regardless of
appearances. I am incorporeal, infinite Being, and this is the truth. And the truth is that "the government is on God’s
shoulders:" the government of individual being. This is universal, so this is the universal truth about every individual
who is awakened to the truth of Being. Those who are not awakened will only be awakened when we release the
"hidden splendor" to such a degree that the light of I AM, the light of Truth, touches their soul, and it begins to revel in
this Presence, feeling that satisfaction and that inner peace. Then that law of attraction, that law of "like begetting
like" begins to work; because what I AM, everybody else wants.

TUESDAY, JUNE 10 - at UNITY ON THE NORTH SHORE - 7:30 P.M.

VIRGINIA STEPHENSON: THE MONTHLY LESSONS OF 1995

"One With the Law of Life," June, 1995 Monthly Lesson

"But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night." [Psalm 1:2]

To keep ourselves in attunement with spiritual law requires us to pray without ceasing. There are specific steps
we can take as preparation for prayer, and the first step is forgiveness. None of us can enter the inner temple of our
being when we are harboring a sense of guilt or holding anybody in bondage to human sense. It is absolutely
mandatory for a peaceful mind and a prayerful state of receptivity to engage in the exercise of forgiveness.

Joel told me that every night before I went to sleep I should review the day to see if I were holding members of
my family or anybody else in condemnation or in judgment to their human failings or their human goodness, and if
I were, to forgive myself and to ask forgiveness for my sins of omission or commission. As you review your day, you
may find areas where you have been judgmental, judging "after the flesh," [See Romans 8:1-16 (RSV) and John 8:
14-16) and you ask for forgiveness as you go to the throne of God within you. Since we are living in a world of many
different levels of awareness, we must have this generous spirit that is willing to forgive ourselves and others
    seventy times seven.

Forgiveness is a purification that erases the concept that the mortal sense has any power to separate us or
anyone else from the love of God. As we grow in our understanding of our oneness with God, we find that our sins
are more of omission than commission. If we saw the way more clearly, we would act and think differently. When we
see mankind not as attached to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, "this world," but as attached to the Tree
of Life, "My kingdom," we come into agreement with the divine Principle, God the Father appearing as God the Son:
    one Life.

The next step in meditation is a contemplative one. We start our contemplation with the word God or Spirit. We
cannot begin with the word I until we have cleared our thought of any imagery or idolatry, because we cannot make
a graven image of this I. We cannot liken it to "any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath…"
[Exodus 20:4] The perfection of God can only be imaged forth in the perfection of Being, not in mortality.

As we see that the only concept we can have of God is man made in the image and likeness of God, we recognize
the hidden Splendor, the presence of God the Father as God the Son. Then we know that the Word is being made
flesh. In truth, every person had this invisible, hidden Splendor, which is waiting for us to recognize It. Our
recognition draws It forth, and our acknowledgment of It enriches our awareness of Its presence, so that this
awareness becomes an established point of view, enabling us to see through to reality. "And I, if I be lifted up from
the earth, will draw all men unto me." [John 12:32]

So we start with the word God and contemplate out from God:

God, Spirit, expresses Itself as individual being, and this spiritual activity is the only power and the only law. In the
presence of this realization, there are no laws of matter, no laws of disease, no laws of limitation. In the presence of
this law of the Spirit of life that reveals the Word made flesh, God is our experience, our life eternally.

God is Omnipresence; there is no place in any realm of being where God is not equally present. But in the
human scene, where a person is living an egotistical life and is identifying with the body concept, in that viewpoint
there is no realization of God as Omnipresence. However, you and I can be the open door to bring to light in human
consciousness the fact that there is only one Ego, God expressing as individual conscious being. This is why we
meditate: to enrich and renew our awareness of Oneness, and thus bring this principle to human consciousness, so
that the belief of many egos, many wills, many minds, can yield to the truth of Omnipresence, Omnipotence, and
    Omniscience.

What a privilege it is, then, to engage in the contemplative form of meditation and to realize that there is only
one law operating, the law that reveals the Word made flesh: I AM THAT I AM. Through meditation we are
empowered from on High to live by grace, acknowledging no other presence, no other ego, no other life but God.
"The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul …." [Psalm 19:7]

Now you are ready for the next step, which is taking a listening attitude in order to receive an inner
confirmation. This may be a silent confirmation, or it may be imparted with words, but you will receive assurance.
You will experience an inner peace, a mental freedom, and eventually, if not right away, the welling up of great joy.
The ultimate verification is the living Word: "I am with you alway [Matthew 28:20] …. Thou art my beloved Son (Self),
in whom I am well pleased [Mark 1:11] … Be still, and know that I am God." [Psalm 46:10] Then your prayer is
    complete.

For Meditation: This lesson built around "the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus" is one of the most important of
our lessons. This law of Life is God’s law of adjustment to every situation that needs adjusting. Please study carefully
all of Romans 8 to fully understand Life lived in, through, and by the Spirit.

From this study you will see why it is possible to live by Grace and "take no thought." God’s law of adjustment is
always operating when we live in the nowness of Being. - Virginia

SUNDAY, JUNE 15 - at THE INN OF CHICAGO- 11:00 A.M.

JOEL S. GOLDSMITH: THE 1955 JOHANNESBURG CLOSED CLASS

"Spiritual Breakfast - Start," Tape 2, Side 2

Question: "Why must a problem be met immediately to be effective, and why, if treatment given later, will the
    treatment be ineffective?"

Answer: "Well, that is a slight misapprehension of what I said. I have said that the problem must be met
immediately, or else we make it more difficult to meet at a later date. For instance, suppose you say to me now, ‘I
have a headache,’ and I instantly, the very same second that you are talking, realize that God is the only being, that
ends that: God’s being has no headache. I have met that immediately.

… If, as each one voices their problem, I am instantaneously, immediately, translating it within myself, realizing
its nothingness, I have no treatment to give later, and the healing can be instantaneous, can be immediate, and
    often is so.

Now then, if you get to be a busy practitioner, you find that there is no other way than meeting your problems
instantaneously, because there never is a later time to give a treatment.

I can illustrate that best by telling you that in my last year of practitioner work, before I started the teaching, that
I averaged 135 calls, every day of the week, …, 12 months that year. Now think how 135 calls could have been
handled by saving up to give them treatments later. Do you see that? It would be an impossibility. Each call had to
be met at the instant of the call. It’s true that the healing may not have taken place in that instant, but then the
call came back from that person later in the day, or the next day, and again the work was immediately done. They
may have called for a year! But at each call, the work was instantaneously done, it wasn’t saved up for ‘tonight,’ nor
were you permitted to have your headache or pains without the benefit of instantaneous realization.

Now of course, you can accept a call, and then say, ‘Oh, I’ll give the treatment later and work on it later.’ But you’
ll find that once the claim has been permitted lodgment in your consciousness, it’s much more difficult to get out
than if you had never let it in. And all healing work is based on not letting it in. You will find, when you come to
the practitioner tapes, that the instructions and the work given to our practitioners is this: the secret of healing
lies in one word, "reaction." The way the practitioner reacts to the claim determines how and when the claim will
be met. In other words, if the practitioner receives the claim and says, ‘Oh, I have to run inside and do something
about this! Oh, this is terrible! Somebody is dying!’ they’re very apt to die. Whereas, if the practitioner instantly
realizes, ‘The life of God is safe and secure,’ that, then, determines what happens with the case. If you do not take
the claim into your consciousness, you won’t have to get it out.

… Now, it is the nature of the Son of God to be spiritual, whole, harmonious, complete, and so if someone says to
you, ‘I am sick,’ you have no business to make them well. You’re not called on – you’re not a doctor! No, no, no! You
are a spiritual light! You are called upon merely to say, ‘Ah, that may be the appearance, but thank God that my
spiritual vision shows me that man is complete, perfect, harmonious, why? Because God really constitutes man’s
    being.

JOHN STEPHENSON: THE 2007 DALLAS CLASS

"All Good Already Is," Tape 3, Side 2 (No. 0716)

"Here is the great secret of prayer, that God is all in all, and God is forever manifested. There is no unmanifested
good or God. That which we seem to be seeking is ever-present within us, and already manifest; and we need to
know this truth: all good already is and is forever manifested. The recognition of this truth is answered prayer."

    – Joel, from THE INFINITE WAY Chapter, "Prayer."

[Here] we have the essence of what mystical living is about. When we think of the great prophets telling us to
"pray without ceasing," if we are going to have this "mind that was in Christ Jesus," if we are going to experience
the freedom of this Christ nature, we pray without ceasing. Now in the old context it’s like, "Well, we can’t spend 24
hours in a church. Our knees would get awfully sore if we were on the floor for 24 hours a day!" But this is what
prayer is. It is the realization of these seven principles, the realization that God is our being, and as such, all of
these aspects of God [Oneness; Nowness; Omnipresence, Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omniactivity; Unconditional
Love] are inherent within, if we have the courage, really, to step out of the human sense of concept and belief, and
delve into that Consciousness beyond words and thoughts. It’s amazing, sometimes, how difficult that can be,
because your mind, especially if you’ve had a lot of metaphysical training, we identify more with our mind and
thought and concepts than we do with our body. Yet, that mind and that thought process and the concepts and the
beliefs we hold and the truths we try to express, held in the mind, sometimes that’s a diversion. It takes us away
from dropping it all, letting go of it all, and going into that consciousness of nothingness, of no-thingness.

"Spiritual Discernment Sees Only One Power," Tape 2, Side 1 Listen to this tape at:

Luella Overeem: 1980 Dearborn, MI Closed Class, Tape 2, Side 1

Joel tells in some of the books, THE 1956 INFINITE WAY LETTERS, I think, and on some of the tapes, that
children pick it up: you transmit your way of life to your children. You don’t have to read all the books to them, but
even little children know, without your saying anything, or their saying anything, they know how you are living,
they know what you believe, because it is expressed in everything you do. And so it is with our neighbors, with the
whole world. It’s picked up, transmitted in consciousness, because there is only one Consciousness. The time will
come, and it already has, you see a lot of evidence of it, [that although] we’ve had to read the books, we’ve had to
study and work and build this unconditioned mind, but in the future, the future generations won’t have to study
the books and listen to the tapes. They will be born into this consciousness that already knows what the truth is,
and is living by it, and doesn’t know anything else. So, it will be completely different. As Joel said, we’re pioneers in
it, we’re having to "chop our way through" all this human belief. But the more of us who do it, and the more Christ-
consciousness we attain, the world picks it up without ever having to study it. They’ll accept it, just as they now
believe that if a person is sick you have to give him some medicine. That will be a thing of the past! They will never
have heard of it, it will be something out of ancient history; and they will know that God is the substance of their
supply, that God is their Being, their Self. But it’s happening as we pave the way for it. That’s why it’s so important
that we live it every minute, because it doesn’t matter whether anybody sees you or not. It’s the thoughts that they
pick up, the thoughts, actually, the state of consciousness, if it is God’s thoughts or if it’s yours, human thoughts. It
spreads as "infectious" at germs. It’s the same thing. When that is the belief on the earth, then that is what
everybody will believe, and that will be the Christ-consciousness. That will be Christ-consciousness come to the
whole world, instead of just one here and one there, the way it has to be at first, until there is enough
unconditioned mind to live it. And we are unconditioning our mind not for us, but for the whole of mankind.
